Last March, Bethesda partnered with Motor Racing Outreach to send several people we support to the NASCAR Auto Club 400. They were treated to the experience of a lifetime as VIP guests, including taking a ride in the pace car with NASCAR legend, Michael Waltrip. Recently, Mr. Waltrip and our ambassadors caught up over Zoom and discussed the importance of inclusion for people with disabilities
Jessica Meuse, singer/songwriter and American Idol finalist, was inspired so much after learning about Bethesda’s mission that she decided to write, Because You Love Me, a heartfelt song dedicated the people Bethesda supports and the staff that cares so much.
While people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have made significant progress in recent years, they still face gaps that prevent them from living up to their potential. Indeed, people with disabilities often lack adequate health care, suitable housing and connections to their community.
